"Classic Core" Hanger

The Classic Core card is also known as the "original" and was available for a short time on this cardboard hanger. It states, "Surprise the coffee lover in your life with this special Starbucks treat." This hanger was pre-printed with $50.00.

What makes this hanger interesting (compared to the 15.00 and 25.00 versions) is the magnetic strip doesn't show on the back side, meaning it was difficult to activate these cards. It also looks like the Starbucks card is attached to the front, but its actually a very high gloss matte finish to reflect the card. There's a pocket inside the hanger that holds the card.

Collectors note: There are dozens of versions of the CORE card, also distinguished by the color of, and different text on the back. The cards in this series had a variety of starting numbers, including the original 6009 starting number. With that said, the unique cardboard hanger has more appeal to collectors as their now considered Rare.
