"Chinese New Year 2010"
aka "Year of the Rabbit"

Released January 10th 2011 is the forth consecutive year that Taiwan has released a Chinese New Year Starbucks Card. This Card is called "Year of the Rabbit ".

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. The festival proper begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar and ends 15 days later; this day is called Lantern Festival. For 2011 the Chinese New Year begins on February 3rd.

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese include Koreans, Mongolians, Nepalese, Bhutanese, Vietnamese, and formerly the Japanese before 1873 and of course China. Other countries that celebrate the Chinese New Year include Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand to name a few.

The people of China and Taiwan often call this celebration the "Lunar New Year".
