University of Washington (UW)

Seattle had a population of 250 when the University of Washington was founded in 1861. It started with a private gift of 10 acres in what is now the heart of downtown Seattle. One of the oldest public universities on the West Coast, today the UW has 500+ buildings and more than 20 million gross square footage of space. The UW (commonly called U-Dub) is a multi-campus university in Seattle , Tacoma and Bothell. Purple and Gold are the school colors, and this Starbucks Card shows them with great pride. That means the faculty of 5,803, the staff of 16,174, the 42,907 students, the 30,000 undergraduates or 12,117 postgraduates, and most importantly the fans of the Washington Husky's will be wanting this Card. It's not known at this printing why the UW has their own Starbucks Card, but it's assumed that someone with a little pull at Starbucks pushed to have it made. Starbucks world headquarters is only minutes from this university, and I'm sure many U-Dub alumni work at headquarters. It could also be that the university is going to celebrate their 150th anniversary soon.
