ASU - Arizona State University

This is the second "university" Starbucks Card, the first being the University of Washington (UW). This issue was released in the Phoenix, AZ metro on August 31st, 2010.

Arizona State University (also referred to as ASU, or Arizona State ) is the largest public research university in the United States under a single administration, with a 2009 student enrollment of 68,064. ASU is spread across four campuses in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

Originally named the Tempe Normal School , the institution was founded on March 12, 1885 after John Samuel Armstrong first introduced House Bill 164, "An Act to Establish a Normal school in the Territory of Arizona."

The school colors are maroon and gold, and this Starbucks Card reflects each color with an intertwined A and S in the center. This was one of the first Starbucks Cards to show the STARBUCKS CARD line centered to the left of the Starbucks Sirens eye.
