Released in North America the 3rd week of February 2017 is the "Poppies" Starbucks Card. Some may refer to this issue as Spring Flowers 2017.

The poppy is a colorful flowering plant of many colors. In the case of this Card design, purple and light red is shown. One species of poppy, Papaver somniferum, is the source of the crude drug opium which contains powerful medicinal alkaloids such as morphine and has been used since ancient times as an analgesic and narcotic medicinal and recreational drugs. It also produces edible seeds. Following the trench warfare which took place in the poppy fields of Flanders during World War I, poppies have become a symbol of remembrance of soldiers who have died during wartime.
